# Accessing and storing production data

Some months ago, I found a manual on how to get serial number or the like from some memory. However, I cannot find this resource any longer.

What are our interests?

- Provide U-Boot environment in memory such as QSPI EEPROM on SoM such as ROM-5721
- Access it via Linux as well

Therefore, I remembered some lines in some manual indicating how to retrieve serial number or MAC address or similar via Linux or U-Boot, dunno exactly …
