After booting linux from board emmc and executing “poweroff” in linux terminal board became unbootable. When power connected power led does not turn on and board has no signs of life. Previous excutions of “poweroff” did not cause effect like that. The board would power off and then automatically reboot some time after.
What could have caused it to become unbootable and is there any way to fix it?
Hi John,
Thank you for your interest in Advantech products.
RSB-3720 is designed for AT power mode, there is no power button so it does not support power-off/shutdown, it will use restart instead of shutdown.
In your environment, unplug and plug the AC power again to check if the system can boot or not.
If the board still cannot boot up, please check,
- To check if there is any output from the debug console.
- If there is no debug message output, please check the board has set the correct boot switch for your boot media.
- If the boot switch is set correctly for the boot media, and the image has also been written to the SD or eMMC correctly, then the system still cannot boot, please contact local support to check if the board cannot boot up the issue.
Hi Jems,
- There is no debug console output
- The boot switch is correct, but i dont think it even tries to boot anything since the power LED never turns on
- I dont think there is local support in my country
Hi John,
If the LED is not turned on when connecting the power, the board may have been damaged. Please return the board for repair.
How sad D:
Will do
